Finalized Book Cover

Dear Friends and Family,

I am so excited to share my first weekly newsletter in advance of the launch of my upcoming book/journal, titled “Unimaginable Loss…Godly Transformation”.  I promise each communication will be brief and easily digestible.

The purpose of each newsletter is to:
    • Share background information regarding the book
    • Ask for your prayers and help with getting the word out in advance of the book release
    • Communicate upcoming events
    • Feature books from friends, family and fellow authors
    • Communicate future books
    • Share scripture

You have been subscribed to this newsletter because you have played an important role in my life and many of you have provided much-needed prayers and support during the past 2 ½ years.

Most of you are familiar with my book, but if you are not, the Book Summary and Book Purpose are included.

Feel free to access my web site and look around, encourage others to subscribe and share feedback via the “Contact” tab or Email Me (listed below).

Book Summary:

I always felt I had a perfect life. I had wonderful, loving, Christian parents who served tirelessly during every activity my brother and I pursued. As an adult, I had a great career, caring and devoted husband, two wonderful children, an extensive and close-knit extended family, and a host of great friends. Things always worked out for me. My daddy used to tell me, “You live a charmed life” and I always believed him. Life always worked out for me, and I felt God’s favor with every pursuit.

All that changed during the COVID-19 pandemic when I lost three immediate family members within less than six months. My trust in the Lord to work everything out for me was shaken.  One of the questions I have been wrestling with is “Why, Lord?”

It has been two years since that horrific year and my grief journey has been a series of ups and downs. Along the way, the Lord showed up in ways that can only be described as miraculous.

This book and journal serve as a testimony of my grief journey for others who have experienced traumatic loss, especially during the recent pandemic. I pray it brings you hope, comfort and solace.

Book Purpose:

The purpose of this book/journal is to help others who have experienced loss, especially multiple losses of loved ones within a short period of time. I do feel I was inspired by God to write it. By sharing my personal story of loss and the phases of grief I experienced, I pray others can find solace and hope as they traverse their personal grief journeys.

Background Information:

In August 1979, right before my fourteenth birthday, our family took a trip through Canada with our travel trailer. Some of our main stops included Toronto, Quebec City, Montreal, Prince Edwards Island, and Moncton, New Brunswick. Our ultimate destination was Halifax, Nova Scotia. One of my favorite stops along the way was Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. I can still see the rocky shore, the towering lighthouse, and hear the ocean water as it washed against the rocks. Peggy’s Cove felt like heaven on Earth to me.

The beautiful illustrations reflected on the cover of the book and throughout the interior were inspired by Peggy’s Cove and created by my talented son, Austin.
