Week 15 -"In the Waiting"

Dear Friends and Family,

Per my decision to only share posts to communicate important developments, it has been a few weeks since I last checked in.

A great deal has happened during the past few weeks, and I would like to share some of these developments with you below:

Waiting on the Lord:

Most of you know I spent close to 36 years in Corporate America before retiring at the end of 2020.  Most of you also know I may appear to be calm, but my brain is constantly going…my body is usually not too far behind.

Recently, I spent a great deal of time in reflection and prayer because I was concerned that I might be “getting in front of God” in my quest to ensure as many people as possible are helped by my book.  I was also very “drained” due to the pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities.  I felt God was asking me to pause and rest.  I was obedient and asked God to dictate my next steps.

God kept me on “pause” for about two weeks, then a frenzy of unusual things happened…

  • A representative from one of the largest non-profit organizations in the country contacted me via LinkedIn.
    • The representative told me they had a desire to help me get my book out to others (I never met this person, and this was unsolicited)
    • During correspondence, I realized the representative is from my dad’s hometown and grew up with my three cousins in Virginia (unbelievable!)
    • He plans to align me with groups that need grief speakers
  • A CEO of an author support organization contacted me via LinkedIn. I was initially skeptical, but realized this person also wanted to help me (again, this was unsolicited).
    • During a 15-minute meeting (because she is so busy), this person connected me with two outstanding marketing representatives who people only know through “word-of-mouth”.
      • I actually hired one of these marketing representatives, focused on marketing my book across the entire US to a targeted audience.
      • By the way, did I mention that the marketing representative also lost both of his parents and is not only extremely knowledgeable and productive, but also very patient and kind.
    • The CEO also offered to send a post regarding my book to her 22K+ connections on LinkedIn (this was completed promptly, as promised)

There are at least three other unexplainable developments that occurred right after my waiting period.  Oh, by the way, did I mention that all these developments also occurred within just two weeks, the same period of time God placed me on “pause”?!!!  God is so Good!!
