Week 8 -"The Winding Road of Grief"

Dear Friends and Family,

As those of you who viewed my End-of-Launch-Week Video are aware, beginning this week, my plan was to transition to sending newsletters only on an as-needed basis to communicate book signings and other events.  However, since so many of you are viewing the newsletters regularly and enjoying them, I will continue distributing them as long as I have fresh and relevant information to share.

I have spent the past two weeks signing and shipping copies of my book to those who are grieving.  I invite others to join me in reaching out in some way to those who are grieving.  A simple phone call or meeting for coffee can provide so much hope to someone who needs it.

This week, I would like to share another excerpt from my book, but most importantly, introduce you to the person referenced in the excerpt.

This excerpt is taken from section VI of the Grief Journal.  It is titled “The Winding Road of Grief” and occurs shortly after my meetings with Vickie, my Restore (Grief) Mentor ended.  It highlights how our grief journey is not a straight road.  As soon as we work through one source of anguish, another source often arises.

Book Excerpt:

The “Bryan” referenced in the above excerpt is Bryan Apinis.  Bryan and his very kind, gracious wife, Kathryn, attended my Book Launch event.  Their presence made the event extra special!

Below are photos that were taken with Bryan and Kathryn during the event.  I also read the above excerpt during the program portion of the event, before introducing Bryan.  This was Bryan’s first time hearing this excerpt and I also had not informed him of the pivotal role he played in my grief journey before he attended the event.  He was quite moved and surprised.

Please pray for those who are grieving.

What’s On Your Mind: New!

A friend and former co-worker reached out to me this morning to ask me to consider sharing in my posts, key one-liners from my book.  Considering this, as you read the book, please share with me (via the Comments section, text, e-mail, etc.) key lines in the book that you believe will uplift others who are grieving.  I will begin sharing them in my posts…Thank You!
