My, how the year has flown by!
There has been a lot happening. Please review all of the updates below, including a Virtual Awareness Campaign beginning on June 9th for my children’s book.
My Children’s Book
- I Don’t Think So! is now available to PRE-ORDER from independent bookstores and large booksellers.
- TO BE RELEASED ON MAY 16TH
- Up until this point, it has only been available to purchase through BookBaby
- In conjunction with this re-release, I will be kicking off a Virtual Awareness Campaign, coordinated by The Children’s Book Review that will include the following:
- A press release
- (Honest) book reviews
- Interviews
- Social media awareness campaign (including influencer feeds)
- Featured book list campaign with established titles
- Give-aways
- And more!

- In I Don’t Think So!, learn how Mia overcomes her shyness with help from a new friend and a whole lot of imagination!
- Recommended for ages 3-8.
- Art directed and edited by Monica Violet Joy, acclaimed children’s media and entertainment veteran, known for creating, developing, writing and producing mega-hits such as CoComelon, SpongeBob, Blue’s Clues, and Go Dog Go!
- Illustrations by talented artist, Asha Butler.
Other Projects
- I attended the Atlanta Writers Conference on May 2-3.
- The conference was well-organized, well-attended and extremely educational.
- It was refreshing to network with so many authors and agents.
- I made some great connections and learned so much!
- On Saturday, May 3rd, I pitched my two YA novels and my screenplay to three literary agents.
- I was invited to submit the full manuscript of Sleuthing Meddling in Santa Monica to the head of an agency.
- I was also invited to query (as a referral) the head of another literary agency regarding either of my manuscripts; I chose Our Selfless Journeys.
- I submitted everything requested on Monday, May 5th.
I was also recently notified of interest in Our Selfless Journeys by another literary agency

- Remember that even if a book is not carried by an independent bookstore, they can order almost any title (with some exceptions).
